Vue d'ensemble

This page is a catalogue summary while we rebuild it as a full ownership review. It is not yet a buying guide.

The 787B became the first Japanese car to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans outright in 1991, using a four-rotor rotary engine. The 2.6 litre unit produced around 700 bhp and made a sound unlike any other car on the grid. The chassis was lightweight and the aerodynamic package was developed for high-speed stability. Its 1991 victory remains one of the great underdog stories in motorsport.
