Visión General
This page is a catalogue summary while we rebuild it as a full ownership review. It is not yet a buying guide.
The 300 SEL 6.8 AMG, known as the Red Pig, was the car that established AMG as a serious racing operation. AMG took a heavy luxury saloon, fitted a 6.8 litre V8, stripped weight and added racing brakes and suspension. At the 1971 24 Hours of Spa it finished second overall and won its class, humbling much lighter machinery. Only one was built, and it became a legend.
