Overview

This page is a catalogue summary while we rebuild it as a full ownership review. It is not yet a buying guide.

The CLK GTR was a homologation special built for the FIA GT championship, and it won the title in its first season. The road version kept the racing car's carbon-fibre chassis and sequential gearbox, with an enlarged 6.9 litre V12 and a slightly more civilised interior. It was low, wide and dramatic, with a huge rear wing and a roof-mounted air intake. Only 25 road cars were built, 20 of them coupes, and they remain among the most collectible Mercedes.
