Overview
This page is a catalogue summary while we rebuild it as a full ownership review. It is not yet a buying guide.
The GT40 Mk II was Ford's answer to Ferrari at Le Mans. After the deal to buy Ferrari collapsed, Henry Ford II ordered a racing programme with one objective: win the 24 Hours. The Mk II used a 7.0 litre V8 and a strengthened chassis, and in 1966 Ford finished first, second and third. The result changed the balance of power in endurance racing and made the GT40 a legend.
