The Clio Williams was built to celebrate Renault's Formula 1 partnership with Williams, and it became one of the great hot hatches. It used a 2.0 litre 16-valve engine, a strengthened chassis, wider track and blue paint with gold wheels. The car was light, agile and revvy, with a chassis that rewarded commitment. It was originally planned as a limited run, but demand led to further production.
