Developed by Lotus Sport and Performance, the 135R sharpened the Rover-engined Series 2 Elise for road and circuit use. Modified cylinder-head ports, an alloy intake manifold and revised engine management delivered 135 bhp, supported by recalibrated Bilstein dampers, an adjustable anti-roll bar and lightweight OZ wheels.
