Vue d'ensemble

This page is a catalogue summary while we rebuild it as a full ownership review. It is not yet a buying guide.

The Sprint was the last and fastest of the twin-cam Elans. Lotus fitted a big-valve cylinder head, revised camshafts and a higher compression ratio, and the result was 126 bhp in a car that weighed well under 700 kg. A red upper body, white lower body and a gold separating stripe, together with gold bumpers, made it unmistakable. It was a small, quick, delicately balanced roadster at the end of an era.
