Vue d'ensemble

This page is a catalogue summary while we rebuild it as a full ownership review. It is not yet a buying guide.

The CC850 marks Christian von Koenigsegg's fiftieth birthday and twenty years of vehicle production. It uses the familiar 5.0 litre twin-turbo V8, here producing 1,385 bhp on E85, but the engineering story is the gearbox: a nine-speed unit that can behave as a conventional automatic or as a manual with a clutch pedal. The body returns to the rounder, canopy-like shape of the early cars, with a wraparound windscreen and a short rear deck. Production is limited to 70 cars. It is a retrospective in the best sense, taking the original idea and rebuilding it with everything Koenigsegg has learned since.
