Overview

This page is a catalogue summary while we rebuild it as a full ownership review. It is not yet a buying guide.

The F1 GTR was the racing version of the McLaren F1, developed in a hurry for the 1995 GT championship. It added a roll cage, a fixed rear wing, wider bodywork and a stripped interior, and it retained the central driving position. Against purpose-built prototypes, it won the 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans outright. It remains one of the most unlikely and impressive victories in endurance racing.
