Overview
This page is a catalogue summary while we rebuild it as a full ownership review. It is not yet a buying guide.
The Countach LP400 was the first production version of Gandini's wedge, and it was unlike anything else on the road. It had scissor doors, a very low roofline and a periscope rear-view mirror because the cabin was too shallow for a conventional one. The 3.9 litre V12 produced 375 metric horsepower, mounted longitudinally behind the seats. Later cars gained wings and flares, but the original LP400 is the purest expression of the design.
