Overview

This page is a catalogue summary while we rebuild it as a full ownership review. It is not yet a buying guide.

The 33 Stradale was the road-going version of Alfa Romeo's Tipo 33 sports racer, and it is one of the most beautiful cars of the 1960s. Franco Scaglione's body is low, glassy and perfectly proportioned, with butterfly doors and a wraparound windscreen. The 2.0 litre V8 sits behind the driver and revs with a hard, metallic edge. Only 18 were built, and each one is a reminder that Alfa Romeo could match the best Italian coachbuilders when it chose to.
