Overview
This page is a catalogue summary while we rebuild it as a full ownership review. It is not yet a buying guide.
The R-Type Continental was the fastest four-seat car in the world when it was introduced, and it established the template for the modern Bentley Continental. The body was developed under Ivan Evernden and John Blatchley and built by H.J. Mulliner, with a long bonnet, a fastback roofline and a low, elegant stance. The 4.6 litre six was tuned for torque, and the car could cruise at high speed for hours. It was a grand tourer in the truest sense.
